The Hope Center
Counselor

Adam Seevers

Adam is a Mental Health Counseling Intern at The Hope Center in the Binghamton, NY area and is currently accepting new clients. Adam is open to working with adult men and women, couples, individuals seeking premarital counseling, and teenagers ages 15–17.

Adam has experience working with individuals and couples navigating depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflict/dynamics, suicidal thoughts and behaviors, and survivors of sexual assault. He works with clients who may feel overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities, withdraw from others, or struggle with persistent negative thoughts, fear, or emotional numbness. For some, this may include difficulty finding motivation, managing intense emotions, or coping with past experiences that continue to impact their sense of safety, relationships, and overall well-being.

His counseling approach is grounded in Reality Therapy, with additional influence from existential theory and Gestalt interventions. This means that Adam takes an active and engaged role in the counseling process, helping clients examine their choices, better understand their patterns, and develop practical strategies for change. He also employs the use of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help challenge thoughts and reframe perspectives. He also supports clients in exploring questions of meaning, purpose, and personal values, particularly during times of transition or uncertainty. By incorporating present-moment awareness and a focus on personal responsibility, Adam works to balance accountability with empathy while supporting both immediate growth and long-term change.

Adam is committed to creating a direct, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel both challenged and understood.
